I thought some people might be interested in an account of actual play from complete newbies (LM and players). I posted it at rpg.net here. It's the adventure log of one of the players (who played Trotter the Hobbit), together with my comments as LM.

It went very well, with the main problem being keeping track of all the subsystems in play: while they're individually simple, they vary enough and interlock so often that the game is actually deceptively complex. But as I say in my conclusion, that's the kind of thing practice would correct.
