Hello to all,

Long time since I was with a fresh and inspiring RPG system as ToR. Congratulations! I love it. It is perfect for play in the Middle Earth and reflects perfectly how operating the adventurerīs fellowships.

I canīt avoid compare this game system for a Zombie Apocalipse game.

Yes, think about this: The combat rules, the Fellowship (group of survivors) phase, the corruption test, the trips, the hope and fatigue mechanics. I have done a fan adaptation of this system for zombies and looks good.

Really I would buy a great zombies storyline license for this system. Itīs very, very good for thisbackground. I chose The Wlaking Dead backgroud, but you can change it for your personal champaing. What do you think about this? Enjoy it.

In these links you can find all you need for the adaptation:

I'm always up for some Zombie Apocalypse! Having it in my favorite game system (though NOT in Middle-earth) is great! I have a friend that has been adapting the system for Star Wars, so I'll pass this along to him, too! Keep whatever else you come up with ... uh, coming. Thanks for sharing!

Ha, ha, ha, XD Thank you very much! but the most important is to get the licenses not the person. This adaptation could have made by anyone who knew the game system.

Also the game may be based in the "Shaun of the Dead" backgroud. C7, thik about this. I WANT a Zombie D12! wink.gif

Thaks to all for the commentaries.

Thank you P,

you only forgot to put a cricket bat I the weapons table! wink.gif

Seriously, I was thinking about converting TOR mechanics for a (non-zombie) post-apocalyptic game, something along the lines of Stephen King's “The Stand”, for my wife who don't like fantasy... but now I only need to steal your work tongue.gif

Really Awesome smile.gif

I'm interested in how you made the modification to the character sheet? Photoshop? Pdf creator of some kind?

Ok. If that happens, PLEASE let us know!!! Star Wars is my other love. I've been anticipating FantasyFlight coming up with something new now that they have the license, but it may be awhile. Star Wars with TOR rules would be VERY interesting. In fact, I have been trying to adapt some of the combat rules to my Star Wars Saga Edition games, but struggling with that because of it being built around maps and feats, etc. I hate using tactical maps! I love the imagination and storytelling. But TOR gives players some tactical choices even without minis and maps. And if you wanted to use a battle map for Combat stances and keeping track of engagements, it doesn't slow anything down or shift the focus from the story.

Nice work. I was thinking TOR might make for a good rules set for "The Walking Dead"-style game. Very nicely done.

You can do it with a lot of software: Indesing, Adobe Illustrator, etc... but I use Photoshop for all. Is a bad habit, I know, but I work very fast in Photoshop. The bottom staining are Photoshopīs free brushes .

Itīs true tongue.gif :
weapon......Damage......Edge......Injury.....Encumbrance...........Notes
cricket bat.....4..............G............13...............2...................double tap*

*double tap: you may do a second attack after the first. If this attack hits roll a D6 if you dice roll is equal or greater that the cricket bat basic damage, your weapon is broken.

Itīs also applies to baseball bats.

Tollers must be clawing his way out of his coffin in outrage at the very thought. Mechanically though it seems like TOR could have been written with zombie survival gaming in mind. Especially Hope and Infection, err Corruption.

I agree. I think it could also be hacked into a pretty good alternative system for CoC, by giving the madness rules a bit more bite, and increasing the levels of Corruption encountered. Dark Ages Cthulhu is the obvious parallel, but modern day could also be made to work with a bit of skill rejigging.

It's a very versatile system!

I spoke with my friend this past weekend and he assured me that he'd get me a copy of what he's done and let me post it here.

[threadjack] My son (who's seven - but far more intelligent than his years would indicate), says in response to me being impressed on his knowledge of a subject of maps and such,

"Of course I remember - because i have a good memory because I have a good brain. Maybe not everyone has a GOOD brain, but everyone HAS a brain.....except zombies of course."

(my wife and I howled with laughter).
[/threadjack]

I'll concur w/ Thorsgold Star Wars w/ TOR combat system would be awesome.

I wonder if the journey rules could be applied to intergallactic travel.

Hmm.... Wouldn't Empire space be considered Blighted terrain? Could you survive the Hazard checks! user posted image

Excellent work, love it. Would make a great convention game.

For more longevity I'd make the Walker's bites only become called shots on the Sauron rune as per normal rules - would make a good 4-6 week episodic event for my home group.
