So this is from the Loremaster's Book, page 120.
I seem to be waaay off of this. My sessions run around 4 hours. It usually takes 1.5 to 2 sessions to finish a story. Marsh Bell 1.5 sessions Don't Leave the Path 1 session Of Leaves and Stewed Hobbit 2 sessions My average XP handout falls in line with what the above seems to accept (2.5xp per session), but I'm averaging only 2 sessions a game year. How are your games? Should I bump up how much XP I hand out? |

We play about two adventures per year (one in spring, one in summer or autumn if there is a fellowship phase in summer), so we play 4 or 5 sessions per year.

We've only played a somewhat extended version of the Marsh Bell (we played the return journey as well, where the PCs rescued Baldor and Belgo from TftW). It took two sessions of about 7 hours in total and I gave out 4XP (one for each session, one for rescuing the Dwarves and another for getting back). We intend to play about 3 adventures per year.
But you're right that the LM book's recommendations don't seem to match with how things are described in the AB. There it's expected that there only be one adventure per year (AB168), consisting of two or three sessions (AB18). -------------------- |
