Hi everyone

I must be not reading it right, but could someone explain how Tolerance works? I understand the modifiers, but how is the Tolerance level set? etc.

The base Tolerance is the highest Wisdom or Valour score of the company, depending on which is valued most by the NPC being encountered. The modifiers (Standing, prejudices, etc.) are added to that base.

Caldarion

1. Determine Basic Tolerance = Highest Valour or Wisdom (depending on NPC's preference)
2. Add Standing Modifier (highest) if applicable
3. Subtract any Prejudice Modifier if applicable
4. Add or Subtract any additional modifiers (Loremaster's book for all of them, pp 51-53) for example, +1 if the Fellowship is carrying a message or is on an errand from someone respected by the NPC, but -3 if the fellowship are asking for passage across forbidden territority
