Here you go everyone, my Excel based Character Builder. Let me know what you think...

Same for me. But I attribute it to not having the same Excel version.
This was created using a newer version so it had to be converted backwards for me... that can screw things up.

I got 2007 as well and have the same issues. So.... pretty safe bet.

Office 2010 works fine. Save as xls is not possible. (then nothing will be operational)

Sorry I should have said. Yes you will need the current version of Excel for the dropdown menus, which are data validations.

Another workaround though is to just type in what you want in the colored fields, and if it is what is in the book, the vlookup formula's should still work. Try it out...

I'll fix the Validation-Lists and post a 2003 Version of this as well.

Stand by.

Here you go

Character Builder

I fixed all the Validation Lists (using Named Objects).
I also made the Lists into Bounded Picklists so that The Culture Value selected first will affect what is available in the other Lists (Background and Virtues).

And I polished the Hound of Mirkwood Entry since the formatting caused a lot of text to fall outside the box.

Oh... and I removed the Gridlines (I hate Gridlines in Templates) and set some boxes around the different sections.
