If Player 1 misses his fatigue roll and Player 2 gains a Greater Success
May he use his Greater Success to negate Player 1's missed roll, or even if he gained a Saurons Eye and a Hazard?

Fatigue tests are all made simultaneously by every player. Nowhere in the rules does it state anything about benefiting from a great or extraordinary success. The only thing to look for is a failure or a failure with an Eye.

Relevant quotes:

"When a player-hero fails a Fatigue test, he increases his Fatigue score by a number equal to the Encumbrance value of his Travelling gear[.]" AB 155

"For each failed Fatigue test, an adventurer sees his Fatigue score increased by a number of points equal to the Encumbrance of his Travelling gear." LB 34

"If at least one player fails the test and the Feat die ends up showing the Eye icon, a Hazard sequence has been triggered[.]" AB 155

"A Hazard episode is triggered when the players fail at one or more Fatigue tests and produce at least one Eye icon." LB 35

You are very welcome! I'm glad you're asking these kinds of questions because it helps everyone to reinforce their own understanding of the rules and it can sometimes point out things that players have been doing incorrectly.

I though that Khamul's question is actually correct- I am fairly sure in RAW it refers to player-characters who achieve Great & Extraordinary successes on ALL rolls, that player can then choose to assist other PC's to turn a failure into a success. This is a general mechanic of the game, designed to underline the importance of the Fellowship, examples would include Aragorn assisting the hobbits with their Fatigue etc.

Robin, with all due respect, I don't see that idea expressed anywhere in the RAW, especially not as a general mechanic. The closest thing I can find is under "Planning Ahead" in the Journey section of the AB, page 154, where the best Lore roll from among the companions gives them options for the upcoming journey.

Your idea is not mentioned in the "Action Resolution" section (AB 148-152) or the "Rolling Dice" section (LB 17-23) of the core rules.

Where did you get that idea?

Apologies Guys, the rules I was thinking of are in Francesco's update "Preliminary Rolls" document:

How to spend bonus Success dice:
Heroes may spend one bonus Success die to add it to any one of their rolls made during the ensuing endeavour, or he may give it to another hero to spend it on one of his own rolls.
Commonly, heroes spend their bonus Success dice on their Travel rolls when journeying, on their attack rolls or Protection tests when fighting, and on any useful roll during encounters.

The above was the passage I was thinking of, thus using the skills: Lore for bonus successes for the journey, Battle prior to combat for combat advantages, and Insight for bonus dice for encounters.

Sorry! Robin S. tongue.gif
