Hi there.
I have just started reading the rulebook and I not sure about one thing.
It is said that you get every weapon at the start you have a skillpoint in.
In the example they use the Bardings and give them a spear and a sword.
But in their description the Bardings have Spear 2, Sword 1, Dagger 1. (If I remember it right.)
Shouldn't they get a dagger, too?

You raise a point that also troubles me Jan - you probably can just go ahead & allow your player-heroes to carry a dagger where they are so described. It doesn't excessively over-power the game & saves you time biggrin.gif.

A dagger isn't so much a weapon as an everyday tool. Everyone can be assumed to carry a weapon, even older children. It's a weapon only as one of last resort. Remember, you're likely to be eating with that blade, unless a separate table knife is carried.

Okay, I already thought that.
It's not like I dont carry a knife with me everyday to use as a tool, so I have no problem giving my players what they need. smile.gif

Don't forget that the dagger skill is what you use for thrown and unarmed attacks.

Exactly. Even if you don't have a dagger, you can pick up and throw rocks or other objects, and you can punch and kick.

In addition, the wonderfully written description in TOR emphasizes the dangers of the latter Third Age & that many people carry at least a dagger or knife for protection as well as utility.
