Hi everyone, as I think CheeseWyrm and others have asked before, I thought it would be good to ask where everyone is from and what TOR they are doing currently - Jon this might be a good resource page, as well!
So I live in Melbourne, Australia, I am currently working on: 1) a compilation of all things that fans have made (non-PDFs) on this forum in the past: 2) my Magic supplement (in my signature) if I ever get around to it 3) I will be running the adventure The Dragon's Ring that is in my signature at Arcanacon over the Australia Day weekend (end January next year) - so no peeking if any of you want to play this at Arcanacon!! 4) I am mainly working on converting my Fourth Age campaign for TOR. I live in Berlin, Germany, and I'm currently:
1. Running a monthly TOR campaign with "Tales from Wilderland" 2. Writing on a scenario for a small convention in February (see this thread:http://cubicle7.clicdev.com/f/index.php?trk=cubicle7&showtopic=3556, where Garn has done most of my work for me!) |

From Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.
1) Currently finished collecting up various house rules (as well as my own) that people put together and posted here - all so its in one nice, graphically consistent, PDF. (EDIT: Now done - http://cubicle7.clicdev.com/f/index.php?tr...showtopic=3615) 2) Jon H has just finished an art commission of the 4 PCs in my Fellowship of the Free campaign. They are glorious! 3) Getting ready (whenever one players' personal problems have been sorted) to re-start the Fellowship of the Free campaign. 4) Until then I'm running a hobbit-only Shire and surrounding areas campaign called "Three's Company". So will be writing up adventures and the like. 5) Looking to get John H to produce a pic for these hobbit PCs. 6) Have some miniatures I'm painting for the Three's Company campaign. 7) Try and continue my Actual Play of Fellowship of the Free! 8) Need to edit/write-up my "To Journey's End and the Eagles' Eyrie" adventure and post it here. Very busy! -------------------- 1) The Fellowship of the Free - a TOR Actual Play thread: http://cubicle7.clicdev.com/f/index.php?tr...&showtopic=3424

Software engineer from Massachusetts USA. I'm planning to teach my gaming group the rules and run them through "The Marsh Bell" and Tales From Wilderland, but right now I'm still in the preparatory stages, like Tensen01:

I'm a graphic designer in Sacramento, California.
My group is mid-way through Those Who Tarry No Longer. Once we finish Tales from Wilderland we'll probably take a break with a different game (maybe Dresden or Shadows of Esteren) before starting back up with The Darkening of the Mirkwood campaign. I'm not producing anything at the moment, but I have already created stand-ups for both combat stance and travel roles that the players have in front of them. Makes things run very smoothly and takes up less space than a single mat in the middle. I also have a half-page "menu" of choices for Undertakings, which includes a few house-ruled options I've added. ... as a side note, I'm sad we won't see any more pdfs, since I've been printing up the illustrations in the TfW book to help set their associated scenes. A bit of a waste to have such good artwork and not have the players see it. |

I'm from Belfast in Northern Ireland.
After a two year hiatus, I have finally got a gaming group back together and we have started 'The Marsh Bell'. I have two pieces waiting for a final decision about their inclusion in OM14. They are rules for Mounted Combat and a new playable culture - Riders of Rhovanion(The Horsefolk of the Wilderland). If these don't make the cut, I may have a word with Rich H about combining them in a PDF along with some Easterling Stat Blocks and new Shadow Abilities. At the minute I am working on ideas, stats and Shadow Abilities that show the folk of 'Dorwinion' in a less than flattering light. |

I'm from Oslo, Norway. Been working in and around the tiny Norwegian film and television industry, which is kinda like that song Hotel Californa, in that it's full of strange, lost people, it's very hard to stay, but even harder to leave.
I'm also a bass player, but that's not my work, but rather a hobby of mine. I'm currently running several campaigns. I'm trying to get a new TOR group together after leaving the last one. Other than that, I'm running a campaign set in the Iron Kingdoms by Privateer Press (we're very excited about the new rule book that was just released). I'm also trapped as a GM in a Rogue Trader campaign. I really do not like that setting, but the players love it, so who am I to spoil their fun? I am, of course, really looking forward to the next releases in TOR, my favorite rpg. Even though I really have too much rpgs on my scheduel, I will always make room for TOR. This really is Middle Earth done right! -Eirik |

Where at in Colorado? I'm in Denver and am looking for players ... I just got the rules, though I've had the PDF versions for some time and read those. I used to run a bi-monthly D&D campaign (glad to leave that behind in favor of ToR) for years and would like to get a regular game of ToR going. |

I'm from Brockville, Ontario Canada a small city on the mighty St. Lawrence. I am only a player in a TOR game that is going quite well, had to put it on hiatus for a few months as one of the other players has some real life stuff going on. After a very long time of not being able to GM anything I hope to start a single player Judge Dredd campaign this weekend some time.

I'm near Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada (prominently French-speaking province of Canada). My TOR experience is limited to being Loremaster in a single, two-session game (based on Word of Wise, but got seriously side-tracked).
Other than that particular game, my relation with TOR has been mostly passive and contemplative, with some minor contributions in some rule-wonking treads on this forum. As an indie RPG designer, I have many ongoing projects, some more on the backburner and haven't tackled anything on TOR seriously yet, but that is partially because I have great confidence in the product and its designers in the first place. Since many of my friends are francophone with limited mastery of English, I've often translated games from English to French (has TOR been translated to French yet?), and indeed translated the cultures presentation for that one game. I'm in Highland Springs, Virginia, United States.
I currently run 3 TOR campaigns:
The first two campaigns I run at my game store ... the first every other Saturday night and the second alternating on the opposite Saturday from the first, but during the day instead. These sessions get cancelled somewhat often in lieu of CCG tournaments ... the seeming anathema to role-playing, but they're what keeps the store open. -------------------- My TOR Resources:

I'm in Lancaster, in the UK. We've just started playing TOR (our first session was last night), though some of us have been playing RPGs since the 1970s, and this group has been together since about 1990. We actually meet in Bilsborough, about 15 miles south of Lancaster.

I'm in Northern Virginia, near Washington, D.C.
Concerning the game, I'm still writing & converting everything into a chronicle that delves the heroes into some chilling mysteries across Eriador. These segue into additional adventures in the South & Rhovanion. TOR finally gets it right, & I can't wait to have these ready for the next company. |

Hi, and I'm glad to be here. This is my first post.
I'm from Columbia, Maryland, USA. I just bought the game a few days ago, and last night my group made characters. Hopefully we'll get to playing next Friday. I don't have any projects I'm working on, other than learning the game. My spare game time is divided between running rpgs and playing Wings of Glory (used to be Wings of War). Part of that time goes into making 3d prints of 1:144 scale airplanes via my Shapeways shop. |

I'm from Cleveland, OH, USA.
I've been running a TOR campaign that started back in February, but since I'm out of state so often doing seasonal work we haven't gotten all that far. We still manage to pick up where we left off after a long hiatus though, so hopefully I'll be resuming it again in December. I've kept a record of our sessions so far on my blog. Though I've already poached much of the material from Don't Leave the Path for an adventure along the Old Forest Road, the next session will probably segue into Of Leaves and Stewed Hobbit, and from there I'll run through Tales from Wilderland. Looking forward to it now that I have my physical copy! I'm also running a PbP game on Roleplay Online. I'm really surprised how well it's doing; the system is really well-suited for PbP. -------------------- My Blog - Started out exclusively covering D&D, but now I write about TOR as well.

Hi, I'm from Barcelona (Spain) and translation co-ordinator for the Spanish edition of TOR, "El Anillo único" in Spanish.
We managed to beat C7 to the publishing of "Tales from Wilderland" and looks we'll do the same for the screen and Lake-Town booklet (small wonder, we print in Spain and they do it in China). I'm presently running a "Dragon Ring" game at a Web-based RPG community (mainly Spanish speakers), and waiting anxiously for the next text to come from C7, be it the localization book for Wilderland or the campaign. |

I just have played two TOR sessions (The Marsh Bell and Words of the Wise) using Lifstan & Co. I use to write a blog about TOR and other RPG, soon I will upload some stuff I made (translating from spanish to english): Combat flow chart. Now, I'm busy taking care of a new baby (my first son!), so I don't have enough time to play, just playing some one-shots here and there. I want to play my first TOR epic long campaign next year, so I will wait to have TfW, LMS<S, TDoM and THotW in my hands. -------------------- |

I, CheeseWyrm, do solemnly swear that I am generally cognisant of my surroundings in .... Brisbane, Australia. Yay! I'm excited to find a local gamer whom I've NOT introduced to TOR (sadly, my group sundered due to various real-life issues). Despite being involved creatively with numerous gaming systems, conventions and companies (mostly TSR) over the last 30 years , I've not had time YET to dabble much with TOR - other than harass Jon Hodgson 'cos he's way too talented & helpful, and throw my 2bits-worth into various thread discussions (immensely enjoyable as we have some very talented, creative and funny TORmates). BTW... what is a good collective noun to use for fellow TOR enthusiasts? TORmates? TORers?! TORkin? (has a good ring to it! ... sorry ) TORfolk? TORnili? TORnilrim?! TORnilath? .... stop me now! TOR comes as a breath of fresh air to me as it 'pushes my Middle Earth buttons' in the right way .... the spirit of the game, & the mechanics provided to express it, feel true to my interpretation of Prof.Tolkien's works. My current missions include: 1. remember where I am b. eat more cheese 3. think lots about TOR to burn off the cheesijoules 3. find local TORfellows (just thought of that one and like it!) 6. learn how to count! Eclecticon - I'll PM you Robin Smallburrow - I'll be in touch too if I can make it to Arcanacon -------------------- 'life wasn't meant to be easy ... it was meant to be cheesy!'

I'm from Derby, UK. My group has recently lost a couple of players, so our TOR stuff is on hold at the moment. We're currently luring in my friend's wife's nephew and his girlfriend to the hobby, but we're starting them off with DnD, but I'm hoping we can train them up and they can play TOR with us.
In the mean time I've been busy making new adversaries for folk to use, oh and writing a few new background options for PCs. I'm also in the preliminary stages of writing a series of adventures that emulate Tales from Wilderland. Don't want to give any details away at the moment but hopefully I'll stick at it and have something to be proud of when I've finished. -------------------- |

Will Issue 14 have sections and editors for the three main gaming systems? Any change in format? Regards, E |

Is that as in the 5th age of middle-earth? What caused the apocalypse? Sounds very interesting... I also wanted to comment in general at what a cool international flavor this play-base has. Very neat to read about where everyone is from all around the globe--Tolkien fans unite! |

Yes, 5th age of Middle Earth, assuming Men developed to an advanced tech civilization. The apocalypse is caused by Men inadvertently opening a pathway to the Void into which Melkor was banished in their search for greater sources of power, and him returning to Earth. |
