The first 3 levels of Experience costs and Advancement costs both increase in a linear way.
Than the Advancement costs continue in a linear way, while the Experience costs grows much more quickly. Is this for discourage too specialization in weapons/wisdom/valour, but not in common skills? |

Perhaps because common skills are, well, common? Also, advancement points are gained in a very different way to experience points. Just suggestions.
