Are there plans to sell TOR dice as a stand-alone product? Or are they alreayd out and about and I've missed them? If not, does anyone out there have a particular favorite set o' dice that has nifty symbols in similar places?

The story is that the foreign translations had larger orders than expected, so that drained away all the extra dice sets. Another order for dice has been made but nothing has been confirmed.

The dice are available at F-shop in Germany. I orderd 6 sets and got them. But the website is in German. Just let me know if I should help you with the German website.

OK, so foreign translations of the rulebook needing dice I get, but I will damn annoyed if dice sets were sent for seperate sale to the foreign language licensors before C7's own webstore. WTF C7? -------------------- “There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. ... The strange thing is: the German rulebook comes without dice. It is hardcover, leatherbound, printing quality is really awesome. Way better than the UK version. But no dice. F-shop sends the dice seperetaly in small plastic boxes. 6,95€ per dice set.
Just to avoid a misunderstanding: I love my UK version too. Francesco wanted two separate books and I can see why. It makes sense. The German version is both books in one. I love the UK slipcase and the maps. But the German book itself is much better. |

I would be pretty keen for C7 to make the maps available for separate purchase as well. I don 't know how the rest of you feel about your players scrawling all over your maps but I, for one, am not happy about the prospect unless replacement maps become available.

You're right in the first part - the separation of the German translation into a book and separately sold dice - I gather it had to be a book in German for tax reasons- means they have dice on hand to sell separately, by necessity. The additional dice order has not been, and will not be sent anywhere else first. -------------------- Jon Hodgson

F-Shop is selling dice sets seperately. I orderd 6 sets and got them. You are right about the tax issue and this might be the reason for them to sell the products seperately. Books and dice are from different VAT categories. |

Jon,
I'm sure we all understand the delays & are willing to wait a bit, however, I hope you also all note how keen we are on purchasing the additional dice. Whatever you all decide at Cubicle 7, you can bank on consumer sales of the dice set . While we're on the subject, I second the other posts about the maps. I hope that you'll one day consider a special set of maps, possibly including these & your future releases from the Loremaster's Screen, Errantries of the King, & The War of the Ring (?) |

The eternal consumption engine makes me happy.
I have no time and it makes me happy that I have the money to pay somebody else to paint my dice. If I would paint my dice, nobody would want to use them. Enough reasons? |

I would like to give more money to C7 for TOR, though I don't want to purely charitable. Painting dice does not solve this for me. -------------------- “There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. ... I bought a brick (36 ea. 12mm) of black and gold d6s at a game store, painted the 1,2,3 pips silver, bought two d12s painted the 11 and 12 red and gold respectively. 45 minutes $7.81, done.

I'm in the "I like the custom TOR dice" camp as well, and would happily buy some more. In fact, at last night's game, one of my players was wondering when they could buy some more. I also really, really hope C7 pursues the idea that Dom (I think) put on here a while back of doing culture-specific dice sets. I'd buy one of each, and each of my players would buy a set for his PC's culture.

I missed the post on culture-specific dice sets, though it's a great idea John & I second your request - I'd also buy them.

Culture specific dice sets?! I'd buy 'em....
Of course, I'd also want a set of Shadow-themed dice for use as a Loremaster.... <insert evil laughter here> -------------------- My TOR Resources:

Problem with the sticker method is that the labels will wear more rapidly than recessed painted pips/symbols. I like the idea of a darker die (not necessarily black) painted black for the 1-3, silver for the four and five and gold for six. On the 12 sider leaving the default digits as is and using red on the 11 and gold on the 12 is cool too. After hearing about the uber special German edition of the rules with leather cover and combined books I don't care about the dice so much, GIVE ME AN ENGLISH VERSION THE SAME WAY! As a LM I would love to have both books under one cover, any possibilities of this?

YES!!! Sign me up for this, too! Too date, I've bought 2 copies of the set (AND the PDF, too), but would readily buy another 2 if they were available in this format. So, please, oh, please, oh, please, oh, please!!!! -------------------- My TOR Resources:

I couldn't agree more. When I want to support a product, I talk with my meager disposable income. On a related note, I'd love to see an English Language leatherbound version of TOR. I plan on buying a second slip-case copy to both have more books and dice at the table, as well as a show of support for TOR in general. -------------------- In western lands beneath the Sun
