More seriously, I could help with the translation, depending on how fast you want to go.
Hi Tom,

In fact i'd like to go quite fast as I wish to use it in my first campaign in march. Now even if the document is not very long (still 16 pages ...), the work is not very easy if i want to do a good job (find the right vocabulary and style that may meet the ones Zed, Cubicle 7 team & Tolkien).
For the moment i've only started the first sentences of the first page. The start will be the most difficult as i have to "find" that vocabulary and style, then it should be easier and faster.
You can help if you want. We could share the work, build a common vocabulary and then each one may read and propose correction of what the other wrote.
Another way (if you have not time for the moment) would be that i do full translation and then i send it to you for reading and proposal of corrections & enhancements.
As you prefer.

Salut Ghorin !

Nice to see you here (in addition to Edge forum). And funny to write to you in English ! This just for our English-speaking friends so that they see that TOR is also active in France and other French-speaking countries.

I can also offer some support for proof-reading when you have finished. I unfortunately cannot commit to a full translation. I actually did the proof-reading for Edge Rivendel - Fondcombe sourcebook in French.

You will find me in Edge forum and can write to me from there as well.

A bientôt et bon courage pour la traduction.

Nikôh

I'm not sure I can commit to deadlines for the moment, so proof-reading is a safer option.
Don't hesitate to send me a private message on this forum or on the french one.

Hi Nikôh,

Yep, that's fun to speak in english with another french man ;-)

Concerning the translation, it's starting (5% done) and i'll be very interesting in your proof-reading : as you have done it for Fondcombe (Rivendell) module, then you may give me good comments.

See you soon

Whenever y'all are done, just send me the final text back, s'il vous plaît. Then I can en-prettify it, like the English version.

Yes Zed, you will get the final version for the final packaging.
Have all a nice day

Looks very interesting. :)
I like that you found a way to create rules for "abstract magic". Can't imagine the impact during an adventure, but it feels pretty close from the offical rules.

Thanks! You're right, most of the magic feels pretty subtle in play; I haven't yet seen it overwhelm the abilities of RAW characters, which was certainly a design goal (to not overwhelm, I mean).

I'll put this out there: this compilation would become a great starting template for anybody interested (Bueller? Bueller?) in creating new spell lists for Middle Earth D&D.

Just sayin'.

Who would be so heretic as to do that? I'd kick out of this forum anyone that even suggested something like that.
