It's true, I'm pretty crazy. If you had told me a year or two ago that I'd be in playing/running at least five games on a regular basis I would have thought you were crazy...

Yep, couldn't agree more.

I'm starting to feel like Spaceman Spiff is threatening me to get my projects done ;)

Seriously, I've made some progress, but not enough. It's hard to know where to draw the line...

Nothing deadly, but you may get transmogrified. :)

I completely understand; things have been really difficult for me to complete over the past couple of months as I'm sure you're already aware based upon our recent collaboration.

Arise from the dead!

(It's dark magic, but only thread necromancy, fortunately).

I think I've got a plan forward figured out, but wanted some feedback on my new 'cost' scheme. To wit:

So what do y'all think?

I think I would almost always opt for Eye Awareness over Hope, assuming a 1:1 exchange rate.

I was thinking that you would. But the point is now that you know have an option and an opportunity to consider the needs of the Fellowship over your personal needs.

I think that's a great idea... The default would be choosing Eye Awareness but it creates another option for those times when a fellowship is under pressure to be more subtle and therefore will need to use Hope.

Oh, yeah, I can see that now. It didn't occur to me until I read Rich's comment, but this mechanic addresses my general complaint with fueling abilities with Hope, i.e. that it many cases Hope may be the convenient resource from a game design perspective, but that it doesn't "feel" like what Hope was designed for: tapping into inner reserves when things look desperate.

But when you are spending it because attracting attention would be Really Bad...that feels "Hope-y".

I like it.

I think that the mechanical exchange is solid enough, the big trick will be to balance the effects.

That or you can reason that the character is pushing extra hard to be stealthy and to keep the magic in check, hence taking and extra effort in terms of concentration and control.
