New Character Sheet

The unique One Ring rules set invites tinkering and secondary creation. Whilst The One Ring works brilliantly as written, we provide this forum for those who want to make their own home-brewed versions of the rules. Note that none of these should be taken as 'official'.

One of my players is using this wonderful character sheet with his brand new PC (a High Elf of Rivendell). A couple of questions/observations:

- He had trouble fitting all of his Traits on the one line. Is there a way to give a little bit more room? (I realize there's only so much space, and it might be tough). He also wishes there was a way to separate Specialties and Distinctions a bit.

- He sent me the sheet electronically, and it doesn't seem to record what skills are favoured (underlined). Is there a way of underlining favoured skills?

Again, this is just an awesome character sheet! :)
Adventure Summaries for my long-running group (currently playing through The Darkening of Mirkwood/Mirkwood Campaign), and the Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

The lines are there, see this example:

They are really hard to find, but hopefully you can highlight them.

You're not the only one who has commented on the Traits issue... I'll try to look at it again, and see what can be done.

Thanks, zedturtle. He found the underline spots for the common skills, but it doesn't appear there are any for weapons?

Yes, there are (I've used the sheet myself to redesign the pregens for one-shot demos), but also difficult to find.
Also, I may add that the lines for weapons doesn't adjust to the text of the weapon. So, they're sometime too short, sometimes too long.

Yeah, unfortunately the technology is not there in order to make a line that scales to the right size of a variable length field. So I know it can look goofy at times... maybe we should just switch to a little star or something?

I think the line is ok, even if the technology doesn't allow it to be as pretty as the rest of the sheet. The universal symbol for Favoured is an underline. Changing it might lead to confusion. Confusicon leads to chaos. Chaos leads to rage. And so on.

Dark Side?

If Falenthal could be turned, he would become a powerful ally... wait, what?

;)

No, we elves can't be turned. Sorry. 8-)

Read for yourself what Rivendell says about Fear tests in Deadman's Dike:
When companions stop for the night in
the proximity of the ruins of the former capital of the
North, they risk being visited by ghostly presences in
their dreams. All sleeping companions except Elves
make a roll of Wisdom.
