New Character Sheet

The unique One Ring rules set invites tinkering and secondary creation. Whilst The One Ring works brilliantly as written, we provide this forum for those who want to make their own home-brewed versions of the rules. Note that none of these should be taken as 'official'.

Awesome! I'm especially interested in the non-form-fillable ones, as ordinarily I like to print them out and hand write stuff on them.

Though if it's savable perhaps I should switch to the form-fillable...
Adventure Summaries for my long-running group (currently playing through The Darkening of Mirkwood/Mirkwood Campaign), and the Tale of Years for a second, lower-level group (in the same campaign).

Okay, here is a sneak peek: Black & White, English, Form Fillable

Of course, you can just print it out. But you should be able to fill it out and save it with a number of PDF utilities (of which I'm woefully ignorant, having been spoilt by having all the official Adobe tools.)

More versions later.

EDIT: Please let me know how these work... I know we've confirmed that we can't get perfect alignment (at least vertically) but if this is egregiously too low or too high consistently for people, I can adjust.

Very nice. One issue right now is that the text in the fields for Virtues and Rewards gets cut of at the top.

What program are you using, and what platform?

All of the text entry boxes are the same size, so it's weird that it is just a problem there.

All that said, the sheet is updated (same link)... let me know if that works any better for you.

Ah, now it works. I use Mac and first tried the default Preview program, that's where the problem was. Now I opened it in Adobe and it looks fine. Thanks!

While at it, am I the only one here that would love to see a second page? It would be great to have some room for sanctuaries, background, family, Holdings etc with all the "crunchy" info on page 1.

I was thinking about the "second page" yesterday myself. I continue to lean towards a "Fellowship Character Sheet" myself, but some of the stuff you mention (family, background, maybe Holding) wouldn't fit there.

Maybe both would be needed... (I'd also love to see the generational rules, because there might be mechanical effects there, imagine being able to invest XP into an heir, maybe at a 1:2 rate?)

Probably every computer/adobe does different things. In mine, the numbers for Valour and Wisdom get written on top of the rhombus, so that they can't be seen. Also, some boxes that need two numbers (Endurance, Fatigue, Treasure,...) write the numbers too much to the right, so that they end up being out of the circle.

And I don't know about others, but I think that the Damage, Edge, Injury and Encumbrance of weapons would look nicer if centered instead of aligned to the left.

On the other hand, I normally prefer to fill the character sheets by hand, so I don't have any problem with non-fillable formats.

Check the sheet now... I just made changes to the three Attributes and Advancement. If those are showing up center aligned and everything fitting, then I've got a solution (a pain in the butt solution, but a solution).
