Yeah, Virtues are a bit different than Rewards and appear to be designed differently.Yepesnopes wrote:I took the idea from some cultural virtues which do combine two things in one, like King's men and Brothers to Bears, but it is true that no Reward does that.
Mine's actually based on Spearman's Shield, which lets you combine a buckler and a Great Spear, which can wind up with better stats than that offensively (Damage 11, Edge 8, Injury 18) with only -1 Parry vs. the Long Sword/Shield combo and less Encumbrance to boot. And the Long Sword has higher Encumbrance than a Sword, which pays for its advantages somewhat, as does it keeping you from using a Great Shield.Yepesnopes wrote:On the other hand, your proposition is also a combination of two rewards (and some penalties). It is a sword with Grievous and Fell, with the potentiality to get Grievous and Fell again for that same sword and have a one handed weapon with Damage rating 9 and Injury rating 20.
Or to put it another way: The Reward doesn't change the Long Sword's stats at all, and indeed caps them lower (since you only get three qualities on one item), it just lets you use a shield with an existing weapon, which Spearman's Shield establishes as a thing Rewards can do.
I don't think it's too much on its own, just in combination with another benefit like Keen.Yepesnopes wrote:Yes, I am afraid if this can be a bit too much, but since you must spend a point of Hope... I don't know, if nothing better comes to my mind I will try this and see if it is too much.
