Hello everyone,
first, please excuse my bad english. It's not my mother tongue.
I like to release an fan adventure for TOR on my Blog, but want to know, if it's allowed to do so. Do I need a special disclaimer?
Of course it's for none-commercial reason and in german language.
Thank you very much in advance for every kind of help!

If you want to publish a Middle-earth fan fiction on your own, personal blog and it is not-for-profit, I don't think you have a problem, John. But I'm not familiar with German law on the subject so you might want to conduct a little more research.
If you were selling copies of it, then you would run into problems and would definitely be vulnerable to legal action.

Thank you for your answer.
But I don't want to publish a fan fiction, but rather a scenario for the The One Ring-RPG. So I need to know if there are any issues by Cubicle 7 if I publish material for their game.

There shouldn't be a problem if you don't reproduce images or texts from C7's books.
If, for example, you want to use a description of a place that appears in a published supplement, then don't copy the text. Refer to it by saying "For a description of X, see supplement A, page B".
Or describe it with your own words, but I'd also recommend to refer to the original description of the place or character.

Generally that hasn't been an issue in the past. IMO you should refrain from directly reproducing C7 material (e.g. stat blocks or descriptions verbatim). Both the Hall of Fire and Other Minds webzines have published TOR stuff like adventures in the past without any issues.
If you're interested - I'm the editor of the latter (see my signature) and you might drop me a note for further information.
EDIT: I just saw that my post overlapped with Falenthal's - now you've got the relevant information twice

P.S.: Du kannst mir auch mailen oder eine PM schicken - deutsch ist da kein Problem
