Hello!

Im am sorry to ask, but how exactly does Foresight of their Kindred for the Ranger of the North culture work?

I mean, how is it activated and later used during an Adventure phase?

The point of the rules on this is that you only get to use it for one session per adventure. (These session-based rules can feel a bit arbitrary, and don't apply well to things like PbP. Or marathon sessions. But that's another discussion.)

So the idea is that once you invoke this trait, in any of the three formal ways traits are allowed to be used, you can continue using it for the rest of that session, then it's unavailable until you've had a FP and started a new adventure phase.

It's a fun trait to use.

We always play for an entire weekend, and the “Session” bit of many of the rules is difficult to handle.
But, since C7 has defined that a session is around 4-6 hours (from memory) maybe a solution could be to look at a watch when the trait is invoked and say: You will have access to Foresight for the next 4 hours...

Is Foresight of their Kindred intended to be used to indicate Eye Awareness and related shadow stuff, or is it a more general ability that allows the ranger to get a leg up on any situation?
I don't have the text of the ability here, as our loremaster is the one with the Rivendell book.

Once the Foresighted Trait is activated, it works just like any other Trait. You can use to achieve a basic success instead of rolling, to gain an Advancement Point when you succeed at a roll or to allow a roll when no roll would normally be allowed.
