Also, lets not forget the use of Traits in Social Encounters as well. A group of 4 players can easily have 4 or 5 traits between them that are applicable to such interactions - eg, Noble, Fair Spoken, Old Lore, Smoking, Cheerful, etc etc. Invoking those nets the same number of successes as the number of total traits used which avoids losing Tolerance *and* gives the group an excellent result when evaluating the outcome. Sure, no APs are obtained but you can get lots of APs in other ways and those APs gained on, say, travel rolls can be spent on any Common Skill so it's not like you can't develop other common skills. Don't take this the wrong way, I see what I've stated here as a strength of the system but it does mean that expending all Tolerance is rare; no bad thing in my book as previously mentioned.
