If you wish to spend your next fellowship phase expiating your newly accumulated shadow points, I think that the appropriate action would, of course, be to free yourself from this manuscript which is obviously twisting you toward the Shadow. As an experienced Loremaster, allow me to facilitate your recovery by providing the sanctuary where you can mail the Rivendell manuscript and free yourself from its malevolent influence.
I was thinking along the lines of a long quest in which the Manuscript Bearer braves numerous hazards to travel halfway around the world, to the mountainous realm of Colorado, where he casts the One Manuscript into the Mailslot of Doom.

I'll PM the exact address....pop in for barbecue while you're here.

Great idea. Virginia is en route. Let me know who to send my address to!

I think it is safe to say Rivendell is the most expected book of TOR since we heard anything about it.

Will the name stay as Rivendell now? I thought it was a placeholder name.
Of Finarfin's children I am the last. But my heart is still proud. What wrong did the golden house of Finarfin do that I should ask the pardon of the Valar, or be content with an isle in the sea whose native land was Aman the Blessed? Here I am mightier.

One thing I've been curious about in the Rivendell book is the power level of the Rangers and the High Elves. How will they differ from the other playable cultures? Are these meant to be high powered characters, or can they be "balanced" against the other cultures, and how?

Also, what is the Eye of Sauron being mentioned? A specific rule to make the lives of the heroes more difficult?

I think it just means that The Enemy is starting to make his presence known. I don't think it is an actual mechanic.

I think it's safe to say that's it's officially "Rivendell" given that we've seen the final cover art.
I was a bit disappointed at first, but in the end, I think it's the best choice from a simple sales perspective. There are few proper place names in the setting that have as much pull.

Anyone else noticed how well the Rivendell book will fit in with the excellent ending of Darkening of Mirkwood? That ending almost brought tears in my eyes. Haven't read rpgs written like this before. :)

It's almost like we have a plan... ;)

And patience when it comes to questions about what's in the book - all will be revealed over the coming weeks!
