Doh! Of course I order the book when the revised one is on its way
Glad there's a PDF coming.

Actually, this will be kind of nice - I have the original set, and the player's guide was one of the ones with the binding that, shall we say, "didn't quite hold together as well as it should have"
, so I separated all the pages. three-hole punched them, and put lock-rings in.
I leave that book on the table (minus the Marsh Bell chapter) so that players can look through it. It's convenient because, with the three rings, one can open the book to the page they want and completely turn the page back so they're only holding a one-page width book, if that makes sense. Anyway, it'll be nice to have "my" copy behind the screen, especially if it's a complete core book (with Loremaster's guide included, I mean) for personal reference. Do we know when that pdf file will be available, or did someone already ask that? Also, will the new core book fit in the case that the original player's guide/loremaster book came in? I have my loremaster book, screen, maps, laketown guide, and whatever current adventure I'm running in that thing, along with the dice. If the new core book fits that'll be nice. Of course, I'll probably have to eliminate something else, since I imagine the new core book will be wider than the Loremaster book, but I can figure that out when the day comes.

Re: Coming next for The One Ring™
Hey, I've been gone from The One Ring and its forum for a while (at the moment, I'm playing Pelgrane Press' Ashen Stars), but I'm still very much in love with this game.
One thing that I would like to know about the new rules book: Will it be organized differently? One thing that I didn't really like about the original work was that pretty much all rulesets (combat, encounters, journeys) were split between the Loremaster's Book and the Adventurer's Book. I can see the point - having all the rules that pertain to the players in the one book and everything else in the other - but it makes looking up a specific rule often difficult. I would much prefer a book that presents, e.g., all of the combat rules in one chapter.

Good to know. But, what about the availability of a printer friendly version of the updates?

I know this probably will be Eta Level Clearance Only, but I thought I would ask anyway.
I was reading over HotW today and a thought occurred to me. With DoM out what time frame are future scenario/campaign packs going to be set in? As example the forth coming Ruins of the North...is that going to be set before, in parallel, after or completely separate from DoM?

@Beran:
The way I remember it, the three separate starting sets that were originally planned were supposed to be set in different time periods - the first one in the years immediately after "The Hobbit", the second one (I believe then titled "Errantries of the King") between "The Hobbit" and LotR, and the third one around (and maybe after) the war of the ring. If they stick to that concept, "Ruins of the North" would probably be set after "Darkening of Mirkwood".
I'm really looking forward to the "second phase" of TOR, by the way; in MERP, Eriador always seemed like the most interesting region of Middle-Earth to adventure in - lots of backstory, a variety of very different places and cultures (the Shire, the Blue Mountains, the Old Wood, Angmar, Tharbad, Fornost), but also lots of room for your own ideas and very little danger of getting into conflict with what is established in The Hobbit and LotR.
