Also, (there are some mild spoilers here) the ending of Darkening of Mirkwood sets up to a natural progression to Ruins of the North... if the players can get past that impossible choice they need to make...
But as I mentioned before, Darkening and Heart of the Wild are truly excellent writing. If those two sets the standard for future releases, we're in very good hands, and the waiting will be worth it.
What I'm mostly curious about is if Ruins of the North is organized the same way as Darkening, or is it more like Tales from Wilderland?

Andrew (IIRC) said they advanced the timline. Ruins of the North is set after DoM.

Technically that's correct, but we've tried to keep it so that Loremasters can slot it in after Tales from Wilderland, after Darkening of Mirkwood, or whenever best suits their campaign within the Tale of Years so far.
We'll talk more about that nearer the time, of course.

As a writer on the project, I can say Ruins is most definitely more like Tales from Wilderland. It will be an anthology of complete adventures. I believe there is a more detailed description of it somewhere on the forum.
I am very excited about Rivendell also, which will be more like Heart of the Wild, I think. I believe the game will pick up new players as it expands information into Eriador, etc. Great days ahead!

Andrew, James,
Thank you for clearing this up for us. I've also been wondering about how you're writing the future releases, & it makes sense if you're conceptualizing
Rivendell to be (somewhat) similar to
HotW &
Ruins of the North to follow
TfW.
BTW, I've reflected a great deal on this format, & despite scattering things about (a bit), it seems to make the most sense. Squeezing everything from Middle-earth into even a few volumes is all about impossible (not to mention that you'll never please everyone all the time

), & IMHO, this seems to be the most logical format.

One further suggestion is to make maps either separate, or fold out. Binding a two page map in a book is really annoying to try and read.

Hi,
One question for the Cubicle 7 guys (I am not looking for specifics), but with regards to hardcover reprint of the core rules. Have any of the rules actually changed or are they just clarified and reorganised?
Regards,
Steve

Steve that question has already been asked and C7 only appear to be shuffling things about and adding in things like Francesco and Armado's clarifications. Maybe some of the misunderstanding regarding some specific wordings might also be cleared up. There will be a pdf covering changes/clarifications for everyone to read sometime soon I expect.

Yes.
We're going to be talking about the revised edition more in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on the website for more information!

Seconded for fold-out or separate maps (if more than one page is needed). This would not only be helpful, but would also fit in with the publishing tradition of the hardcover printings of
TH and
LotR.
