Hello, I'd like to join a TOR game in Play by Forum or Play by Post format, ie not real time because I like to take the time to absorb the situations and imagine lots of possibilities before deciding what my char will do.
I would be a first time player with the TOR rules, have played some D&D but like Tolkien better so would like to try TOR because the rules seem to enable a lot more of the Middle Earth culture and settings. I've read Hobbit and LOTR both more than once (about three times each I think)...also played LOTRO, taking three chars up to lvl 100, so am reasonably familiar with the lore. I can make the commitment to a long campaign, and can post frequently, eg. multiple times a day.

Re: LFG: PbF (PbP)
I'm running a PbP currently, and I wouldn't mind another player. We currently run the game with a rotating GM, so most players (not all) are expected to GM an adventure at some point. This also means that the GM also participates with a PC.
The problem is, I have been burned one too many times with players who give up or dissapear after a few months; I'd rather avoid recruiting such players, although I understand that sometimes real life happens. Because of the high attrition, I may also restrict Culture choices for a new player; we've had one too many hobbit, Ranger and High Elf dissapear on us, and this tends to disrupt the narrative.
Have you tried Play-by-Post before? It can be quite slow, so I'd rather have players who know what they'd be getting into. Also, are you willing to GM at all? If you are interested, I can send you a link to our game, and I'm happy to answer questions, but I'd probably ask some questions to see if we are on the same page regarding expectations and play-styles.
