Congratulations, Garrett, on the successful completion of "The Crossing of Celduin". It looks like Ioreth might want to study up on 'hawking' and see if she can acquire a new trait, Falconry, if she makes it to her next Fellowship phase!

The whole time that Thor (I think it was) was attacking the GK's cart, I wanted to shout: "Smash the wheels on the right side!" I was thinking that you might allow the strong current of the river to assist in reducing the difficulty of tipping the cart if the company went for that outcome.

I was surprised that no one thought of placing more archers on the towers. The folk of Celduin weren't trained fighters, but surely some were familiar enough with the bow from hunting. Some clay jugs filled with flammable oil or other combustible liquids would have come in handy, especially once the raven had delivered its message. But, that might be expecting too much from too little information! :)

I do wonder if you were a mite too generous towards the GK. I thought that taking down the bridge ought to have represented a greater hindrance. On the other hand, it's reasonable to think that there was already a natural ford where the bridge was built, so the rubble might still have allowed the cart to cross. I get that reasoning; I just wonder how the GK was going to deal with the broken remnants of the bridge at the gate. The company collapsing the bridge when they did, did manage to keep the invaders from making a new ford at a shallow point downriver.

FYI: The Elven pronunciation of Celduin should be: KEL-doo-in. Any time you see a Sindarin word beginning in Cel- that syllable should be pronounced: Kel. Just though you might like to know that. In this case, I'll just chalk it up to regional dialect! ;)

I'm pretty sure that all uses of the letter "c" in Sindarin use a hard c (like the letter "k" in English).

The Tolkien Gateway says this about the letter "c": Always hard c like in English cake. Never soft c like in English cell.

I think once they took out the horses, the Gibbet King only had limited time. His main focus was to get as many through the gates as possible to confront Dale so he could do his real work in Withered Heath.

Yes, it is called 'the final assault' for a reason. Once the GK commits to the attack there is little room for second thoughts; all he can do is make adjustments for the tactical situation. I will say that it is very interesting to see what the company did and didn't do both to prepare for each assault and during the attacks. Besides what's already been noted: Since the bonfire worked so well the first time that I'm surprised that the company didn't construct a new one as part of their final preparations.

They had limited time, and I pushed them to make their decisions quickly how they wanted to spend their downtime.
