Well, my question was more "what am I missing?" than "why are they stupid?". However, since it is off-topic, and apparently slightly offending, I suggest we go back to the original topic.

Somehow this got way off course. The question wasn't "Hey did Disney leave themselves vulnerable?" it was "Why does Disney need to keep getting copyright on Mickey extended? Wouldn't trademarking him be enough?" (I'm guessing the answer is: you couldn't make new cartoons with Mickey if he were only a trademark, but you could start duplicating and selling the original Mickey cartoons.)
But that in itself is a thread derailment.

Anyway...
I really like thing Cubicle 7 seems to be doing by releasing a region book first, then a series of adventures or campaign set in that region. I'm all for pre-made adventures, as I do not have the free time to write my own so much these days. So I hope C7 will continue with this model, and release a series of adventures (or better yet, a campaign arc like the excellent Darkening of Mirkwood) for Rohan.
I also hope that they will do a book on Gondor. What I'm not so interested in is material on the very fringes of the setting, like Forochel or south of Mordor. Let's keep it to places described in the books (and preferably in different years than the books, so that the players won't take the back seat).

That's just patronizing.
That was not my intention. So let me say to Elfcrusher, and anyone else that I am truly sorry. I will be more careful in the future with my posts.

Yusei, I do not think you or anyone else was being stupid. I was truly only trying to be helpful. I work in the IP world and write about it often. I thought I could be helpful.

The short answer is no, that would not be enough.
Sorry also for unintentionally derailing the thread.

I agree with both themes. The first is an excellent idea, & the second adds to my love maritime adventures. I realize you don't want to cover the Corsairs, but I'd love to have one or two adventures involving them.
Good stuff.
