Another interesting take, still considering both physical prowess and strong will as factors for Endurance, would be to recalculate (mostly lowering) basic Endurance ratings for each Culture and add to that both Body and Heart attributes. This is not done to change what matters, but to help even things out a bit.
I'd like to see characters with higher Body get a little End benefit compared to others of the same stock.

I agree that Elves have the worst End-Hope outline and am not completely at ease with Woodmen designed so different than other humans... those in particular could benefit from some tinkering.
Thoughts?

Another house rule I use is that the weapon's damage is based on the user's Strenght:

A sword or spear etc does damage=body
Long sword damage= body+2
Etc...
(some reworking was needed for dagger and short sword)
This way high body is a more immediate advantage.

I just posted this in the armor thread (I'm catching up on my forum reading):
After a bit of debate I house ruled that when calculating encumbrance, players add up the weight of their equipment then subtract their Body score

I'm going to start adding some of these house rules as options in my sim. I'm really curious about their impact. This might be a good one; nice and simple.

Nice, if you have no Dwarf in your group. Unless I'm wrong, their cultural virtue becomes garbage.

... There cultural blessing reduces Encumbrance by their favoured Heart I believe so they would get the benefit of Body as well with this house rule.

I believe that this way they got double discount.

The reduction relates to two different attributes and if it was a double discount it wouldn't mean their cultural blessing "becomes garbage", it means that they benefit from two bonuses to reduce encumbrance whereas other races get one bonus which is comparable to the RAW - ie, 1 bonus for dwarves vs. 0 bonus for other races. The house rule is just increasing the gap between wearied and max Endurance for all cultures not just dwarves but is maintaining their advantage as they get the benefits of their cultural blessing plus this house rule.

Did they stack? Ok, Dwarves maintain their advantage.
Otherwise they are shafted.

Edit: by the way, I apologize with Beran for the "garbage" term. Not native speaker, I didn't realized at first that it can be meant as dismissive or offensive.

... That's the way I'd read it, otherwise like you say, dwarves would be shafted.
