Looks beautiful. RPG is about imagination, but it is awesome when you can add some details to create a suitable atmosphere around the table/virtual table.

Re: The One Ring theme for Roll20
looks real nice, shame this can only be achieved in Chrome. I'm tempted to install chrome just to try out this theme. Thanks for sharing
Re: The One Ring theme for Roll20
Very nice - thanks for sharing this! From a quick proof of concept, It looks like your CSS also works on Firefox using Stylish (which covers Chrome too). The only change I needed was reverting the image URLs to the original static.squarespace.com ones you commented out. Is there any other reason you chose to do this as a Chrome extension? Looking at your code, I couldn't see anything specific - but that could be my ignorance.Heilemann wrote:

If not, please do consider releasing this to Userstyles.org so people can add it easily if they install Stylish on either Firefox or Chrome; and if you're really feeling keen, you could update the Roll20 TOR wiki page with a mention too!

No particular reason, simply laziness. Minimum path of resistance.
Re: The One Ring theme for Roll20
Heh, no problem. I sympathise. I don't know enough about Chrome extensions to know whether or not there's any problem with this approach for updating or removal (I couldn't even find it in the list of installed extensions once I'd unpacked it...).Heilemann wrote:No particular reason, simply laziness. To make it easier for others though - not least non-Chrome users! - I've repackaged your work as a user style using Stylish. N.B. this is still referencing the static.squarespace.com image URLs. Are there better (more stable) URLs I should target instead? I'll also try to update the styling if you change it e.g. if/when Roll20 change their CSS, or you're welcome to take ownership if you'd prefer.
Now, for anyone who wants to use your theme now in Firefox or Chrome:
Installing Stylish and Theme
- 1. go to http://userstyles.org and follow the links to install either 'Stylish for Firefox' or 'Stylish for Chrome'.
2. go to http://userstyles.org/styles/100415/the ... -on-roll20 and click 'Install with Stylish'.
- 1. go to Roll20 and open your campaign. You should see the pages and menu tabs already look different, but the background (probably) doesn't. This is because Roll20 defaults to showing a white background with a grid.
2. go to the Pages tab at the top, hover over a page and click the 'Page settings icon' (gear icon in the top left).
3. In the 'Page Settings' popup window that appears, click on the box next to 'Background', then in the smaller pop-up window with little coloured boxes, type 'transparent' in the 'Hex' text field at the bottom and press return. The background box should now have changed to a grey and white checkerboard. Also uncheck the box for 'Grid' then click 'OK'.
4. You should now see the ring and wooden backdrop! You're done.
