Character sheet font

Post by Woodclaw » Mon May 05, 2014 8:32 am

Hi guys,
I'm currenty working on a modified version of the character sheet, but I can't find what the font is, I assumed it was Aniron, but I didn't realise that Aniron only has capital letters. Does anyone knows what I should look for?

Looking at a form-fillable character sheet that I have and examining the properties in Foxit Reader shows that Tolkienesque as the most likely font.
Some TOR Information on my G+ Drive.

Unfortunatly that seem to be the case, which is a problem since Tokienesque cost about 10 $ to use. :(

A quick check reveals a look-alike font called Stonehenge that is free for personal use. As long as you aren't charging for the sheet and credit the font author I suspect that it's ok to use that. If you don't embed the font in the document so that anyone using the sheet has to download the font themselves that would definitely be acceptable.

I'll try with this although it seem to be less on the handwriting side, which might complicate things.

Strange I thought I replied to this thread but I don't see my post.

Anyway, "Uncial Antiqua" from Google fonts is a reasonable substitute. It's free, high quality, and easy to use from their hosting.

I've tried but the results were ... less than spectacular, I'll keep searching.

I have found a free font called "Aniron" and that is pretty close to Tolkien. For a font that's close to the game itself, I believe I use Garamond..also close but not quite perfect.
Rignuth: Barding Wordweaver Wanderer in Southron Loremaster's game.
Amroth Ol'Hir: High Elf Vengeful Kin Slayer in Zedturtle's game.
Jakk O'Malli: Dwarven Orator Treasure-Hunter in Hermes Serpent's game.

Aniron I already have, but the problem is that it's all capital letters.

The documents we use to produce our fan stuff use Ardagh & Livingstone for the headings, Alois for main text if this helps - I assumed that these were the same fonts as in the official books...
