More Dwarven Names!

Since I don't like very much the dwarven names in the Adventurer's Book (and neither my players), I made an expanded list using the nicest combinations of around 20 prefixes (like Bal-, Dwal-, Dur-, Gim-, Glo- etc.) and six suffixes (-fur, -in, -li, -ni, -r, -vi). It seems a valid method to determine Khuzdul names, and you can use it to expand the list as you like ;)

Enjoy!

(Azaghal), Balfur, Bali, Balin, Bifur, Bili, Bofur, Boin, Boli, Bor, Borfur, Bori, Borin, Borli, Borni, Borvi, Dafur, Dain, Dali, Dori, Dwalfur, Dwali, Dwalin, Dwalni, Durfur, Durin, Durli, Durni, Durvi, Farfur, Farin, Farli, Farni, Farvi, Fifur, Fili, Flofur, Floi, Floin, Floni, Flor, Frafur, Frain, Frali, Frar, Frerfur, Freri, Frerin, Frerli, Frerni, Frervi, Frofur, Froi, Froin, Froli, Froni, Fror, Fundfur, Fundi, Fundin, Fundli, Fundni, Fundvi, Gimfur, Gimli, Gimni, Gimvi, Glofur, Gloi, Gloin, Gloni, Glor, Grofur, Groi, Groin, Groli, Groni, Gror, Kifur, Kili, Lofur, Loi, Loin, Loni, Lor, Nafur, Nain, Nali, Nar, Narfur, Narni, Narvi, Nori, Oin, Ofur, Oi, Oin, Or, Ori, Pori, (Telchar), Thorfur, Thorin, Thorvi, Thrafur, Thrain, Thrar, Throfur, Throin, Thror

I wonder if English is your native tongue? I have no doubt that players that I know would appreciate a dwarf called Groin. It's almost as bad as the Hobbit named Nob who is the butt of many jokes and causes much hilarity among one of my groups.

If I recall correctly, Groin is actually Gloin's dad.

Exactly, "Groin" is not my invention...

Maybe you wonder if English is Tolkien's native tongue?

Andrew, could you honestly announce Gloin, son of Groin when introducing the character in a game and have the players keep a straight face.

I believe it's pronounced "Growin'"

As in, "That young hobbit is growin' like a weed. Soon little Nob will be...STILL A LITTLE NOB!!!" (breaks down laughing)

Yes, it's pronounced as "growin" as in:

"Groin's groin is growin' ike a weed after he got a look at Tauriel"

And you really can't imagine how absurd some of these dwarven names seem in italian (my native tongue, Hermes ;) ).

A lot of them are, like, the name of a town, a verb, an adjective, a plural noun, a dialectal word...
