I think that the idea was that it was one of those bits meant to represent Saruman's inclination toward machinery and not a bad idea in my eyes.

I like the Weary concept with the whip. I'll probably make it damage 1, though.

I keep thinking about morning star...visually it's just so orcish.

I guess I can call it "Spiked Morning Star" even though I already have "Spiked Club".

"Savage Whip"

What about Glaive? "Wicked Glaive"?

How about Falchion?

EDIT:

Ok, I added "morning star" but I want to call it something else. I mean, orcs are hardly likely to name something after Venus, and presumably free folk wouldn't give it such a poetic name, either. For now I'm calling it a "Spiked Eye" (a far more likely spherical object in the east for orc to revere). Any creative ideas?

Also, how should I make a glaive differ statistically from a two-handed axe? It can't be better all around.

Is the morning star the spiked ball and chain common fantasy option or the spiked lump on a stick?

I'd go with Warden's Whip or Torturer's Whip. When you talk about Goblins with glaives all i can think of are the Brian Foud goblins from Labyrinth.

I think i'd call it "heavy" (Heavy Glaive) becuase they always seem ridiculously too big for the little goblins that carry them.

I like Torturer's Whip. Or Slaver's Whip, but I also like Slaver's Chains.

"Troll whip"? (used for keeping those dim witted brutes in line.)

I'm going with Unwieldy Glaive. I've got "Heavy Maul".

Ball and stick.

Flail has a chain.

EDIT: Flails can also have multiple chains/balls.

In theory could a glaive not be some sort of combination of spear and sword? I don't have the stats handy so I can't be more precise than that :P

Or perhaps a different called shot but similar stats to a great axe? Maybe the ability to trip opponents or to reach over people?

Current list (in addition to normal orc weapons):

Orcish great-axe
Great maul
Mining pick
Throwing axe
Troll whip (1 damage, on failed protection test target is Weary for one turn)
"Spiked Eye" (morning star)
Iron flail
Uruk great bow
Makeshift club
Spiked club ("New and improved!")
Orcish great-axe
Slaver's chain (entangle on failed protection test; on fumble attacker must roll or entangle self)
Unwieldy glaive (suffers -1 penalty to TN)
Diseased bite (secondary weapon only...works great with slaver's chain)

I'm including a size rating for each orc from 1 to 4 (human is 3); some weapons and shields have minimum or maximum size ratings or attribute levels.
