We’ll be starting the pre-order for the revised edition of The One Ring™ Roleplaying Game in June. In the intervening weeks, we’ll be taking a much closer look at all aspects of the roleplaying game, but to start with we thought we’d show off the new cover, by Jon Hodgson.

The One Ring Roleplaying Game is based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Chock full of incredible artwork by leading artists, including John Howe and Jon Hodgson, and with evocative rules designed by award-winning games designer Francesco Nepitello, there has never been a Lord of the Rings game that’s more evocative of Tolkien’s unique vision. Along with rich and detailed background information, rules that focus on Tolkien’s themes, character types unique to the world and a setting that changes as the Tale of Years progresses, when you play The One Ring Roleplaying Game you really feel like you are playing in Middle-earth.
This new, revised edition of The One Ring Roleplaying Game is presented as a single 320-page hardback volume that contains all the rules and background that you need to play. This edition of the game is completely compatible with all existing The One Ring material, which means that there’s already an exciting range of supplements available ready for your adventure to begin right away.
Already Own the One Ring?
We’ve taken the opportunity with the revised edition of The One Ring Roleplaying Game to completely re-lay it out, seamlessly integrating the Adventurer’s Guide and the Loremaster’s Guide into a single volume. The revised edition has been thoroughly re-edited and reformatted for clarity, ease of use and reference. It not only incorporates previously supplementary rules, including the encounter rules from Tales from Wilderland, but also changes many of the existing rules based on 3 years of fan feedback and countless gaming sessions in that time.
For those of you who are just curious about the changes over the previous edition, we’ll be discussing them more over the coming weeks and, upon pre-order, we’ll make a rules update PDF freely available.
