Here's a report of our regular monthly TOR sessions ; we play in South West of France, close to the Pyrenees and the Garonne river, a beautiful area that sometimes feels like being close to Anduin and the Misty Mountains...

We recently played a variation of Don't Leave the Path, where instead of encountering the Thing in the Well (which I save for later), the adventurers got lost outside of the Elf Path and met with Raen, an intriguing figure who became the chief of dispossed farmers who hid into the woods to flee Viglund's persecutions.

In the long run, how characters behaved with Raen during that encounter will play a very important role in the evolution of Viglund's overall control of Northern Anduin Vales, and it remains to be seen whether they can bring Beorn into an alliance with Raen, or if they choose not to meddle in these affairs since now their priority is to learn more about the Wolfbiter axe.

On the last bit of the journey characters attended the Anduin Fair (Baldor's destination), close to the Bear Island on the Anduin River. During this beautiful gathering of merchants from North, South, East and West (rumors were that some travellers had come all the way from Bree!), they could find a bit of respite at the Blissful Wanderer, an itinerant pleasure house held by an affable Dwarf, where beauties from various parts of Middle Earth ensured that weary travellers could get a Hope boost and a bath while sipping Dorwinion wine.

The characters had to enjoy this while it lasted (it felt as if their Fellowship phase had started) since the day after, the Fair was attacked at night by a Hill Troll. Heroic defense from the characters amidst collapsed tents, and discovery that the Hill Troll was in fact one of those enslaved by Viglundings to farm their land (- I've borrowed this from another culture in HotW -), and brought to the Fair for an obscure revenge...

As Viglund obviously grows in power in the Anduin Vales, what are characters going to do ? Apparently a trip to Beorn's house seems to make sense...

Wrote our fourth session in English (as opposed to Danish): https://ringen.squarespace.com/journal/ ... on-naugrim.

Unfortunately the writeup doesn't do the session justice; it was probably our best so far. One of our friends found time to drop in for a night, and he took over Balin and played him to a T, with a little briefing from me with regards to how he should treat Galion (I gave him his back story, and told him that something would happen during the session which could go either way, and that he should play into his back story, that was all the details he had). As I said, the writeup doesn't nearly do it justice, when the player actually broke into song! during the session, it sealed the deal. That he did it twice more, once to summon courage and once to intimidate the orcs, I wished he could join us every sessions :)

I keep an AP of the campaign I am running here: UK Roleplayers (eight sessions so far).

We have just had a two week break, but we are back to it this coming Friday.

Regards,

Shane

Heilemann, what a beautiful website! Congrats and keep it up! I will try to read it via Google translate when I have time. :-)
Thank you very much. I've started writing in English in fact, so it should be easier for you now.
