[FoTOR] Online Games and Actual Play Reports
Hello everyone,
Now I know we have a lively thread about online games, which is great. Something that would be handy I think would be a thread that's a repository for links to those games - be they play by post, actual play reports, or games played using online tools that other people can read or follow.
And if you find one you enjoyed reading you can maybe share it with other people as part of The Fellowship of The One Ring endeavour?
So this thread is for posting links to such games. Have at it!

Re: [FoTOR] Online Games and Actual Play Reports
Here's a report on the Fellowship Phase which comprised our last on-line session on Wednesday evening.
The group has just been through a custom version of Blood in the Water and comprises:
Feanomar, an Elf of Mirkwood,
Grimfast, a Woodman,
Jakk O'Mali, a Dwarf of Erebor,
Merriwise Took, a Hobbit of Tookland, and
Njal the Bold, a Beorning
Grimfast chose to put a Keen edge on his Long-hafted axe and asked Jakk for help in getting that done by a weaponsmith of Erebor. Jakk also made use of his End of Year visit to the Lonely Mountain to get himself outfitted in a well-adjusted mail shirt that eased the weight on his shoulders. He carefully studied the arts of his fore-fathers and managed to add to his store of knowledge about old spells. The art of Opening that which is Closed and Sealing that which is Open are his as well as the Art of Hiding Things in Plain Sight. Grimfast listened to the tales of the battles of the Second Age told by the Dwarven rhymers in the halls under the mountain and realised a greater degree of Bravery as the songs and tales resonated with him.
Feanomor took Merriwise Took in hand and helped improve his skill with his bow. Merri now is almost as skilled with a bow as the Elf. The Elf studied the Elvish ability to loose a Stinging Arrow making his Deadly Archery very accurate indeed and Merri's boyhood skill at throwing stones at rabbits has made him a Fair Shot. Both prize Wisdom above Valour so may find some fearsome foes hard to deal with. The hobbit managed to find a book laying around that told of the battles of the Second Age and close study improved his knowledge of the martial arts of Battle. Feanomor, in the meantime, talked with his experienced comrades of the Art of the Hunter in finding the right path, coping with difficult weather and the best methods of travelling the paths of the Great Wildwood so improving his skills in Travel and Explore.
Talking with the armsmen of Erebor when getting his mail adjusted Jakk mentioned the shield seized from the giant orc that had stole Theustal's Dwarven map. In showing it to some of the oldest smiths he is told that it is of Gondorian style long out of fashion, serviceable, but poorly maintained. Showing the map with it's Dwarven runes and symbols to the archivist Jakk finds out that the village of Grenedun in the foothills of the Grey Mountains was once the site of a dwarven mine. Steep cliffs and sturdy, dwarven-built walls of stone across the only passageway protect the settlement from aggression, and a spring ensures that there is enough fresh water to sustain any siege. The dwarven miners had left the site after the Battle of the Five Armies and returned to Erebor when Theustal found the map in one of the Dwarven buildings. As he sought to reopen the mine with the men of Grenedun working the seams he brought the map as a gift when seeking permission from Durin's Folk.
The archivist can provide more information to Jakk about the location shown on the map.
The merchants of the caravan from the South who were robbed near to the Southern end of the Long Lake by the 'bandits' report that their camp was over run one night, guards slain and goods stolen. A search revealed a knife of Eastern design dropped under a bush. The Master of Lake-town is offering a reward of 10 gold pieces for the group that destroys the bandits and recovers the stolen goods and pack animals.

Southron Loremaster hosts a game here: http://torrpg1.proboards.com/board/1/general-board which includes the following:
Regnald the Fox (played by Halbarad from these boards). A Woodsman Seeker with the Warden Calling.
Arathor, played by Southron Loremaster. An Elven Slayer with the Wild at Heart background.
Veig, played by lotrnerd. A Dwarven Far Trader with the Scholar Calling.
Rignuth, played by me. A Barding Wordweaver with the Wanderer Calling.
The group has played through The Marsh Bell, Stay on the Path, Leaves & Stewed Hobbit, Kinstrife & Dark Tidings, Darkness in the Marshes, and are currently playing Halbarad's homecooked adventure: The Raven and the Waterhorse.
I also playin Hermes' group (referenced above) and Zed's group (reference above) as well as an rpol.net group (but I don't think the Loremaster posts here much, or if he does I don't know what his username is).

Once ugly rumors get started they are hard to stamp out.
Grimfast most certainly did not just ask for help sharpening his axe, he asked for help forging a new one that would hold an edge better than his standard-issue Woodmen axe.

The comms issue we had made keeping track of who was doing what a little tricky. I just checked the chat log and you did type that you were getting a certain dwarf to talk to a friend about getting a new head forged for the axe so my apologies for only sharpening it in the fluff.

Here's a link to my campaign, though I've yet to post session summaries. I plan to, but I need to decide on the format. Still the characters are here!
