Wounded and Poisoned

Last session our hobbit got hit with a poisoned orc blade. It wounded him and poisoned him in the same hit (what bad luck!). In the Adventurer's Book it says
A Poisoned character is considered to be Wounded. Thus, if an already Poisoned character is wounded once, he falls unconscious as if Wounded twice (likewise, a Wounded character falls unconscious when Poisoned).
Does that mean he was knocked unconscious in one hit? I just want to make sure I'm understanding the rules correctly. Thanks!

This is my interpretation as well.
Poisoned weapons are really nasty.

I'd interpret it to mean he also needs a healer's attention in VERY short order, unless the poison is very short duration.

Indeed. Lucky for him, he had only taken 3 damage and we have a woodman with poison remedies. So he was back on his feat in no time.
