Skill use.

Post by Beran » Wed May 21, 2014 12:14 am

I finally picked up the hard copy of TOR at a local Con over the weekend; up til now I've been reading the pdf. I just found something that I seemed to have missed on the first read of the pdf, but can't really find a full clarification in the book. When a PC tries to use a skill they roll the number of success dice in the skill+the feat die, this I've always understood. What found just now is that it mentions adding in the Attribute as a bonus (either basic or favoured depending on the skill). Is this last part correct?

A PC only adds their related attribute bonus when they spend a point of hope to invoke it.
Rignuth: Barding Wordweaver Wanderer in Southron Loremaster's game.
Amroth Ol'Hir: High Elf Vengeful Kin Slayer in Zedturtle's game.
Jakk O'Malli: Dwarven Orator Treasure-Hunter in Hermes Serpent's game.

Ah, that's right! I knew there was something else to it. The section in the book I was reading was a little wonky and threw me. Thanks for settint it straight for me.
