Not to mention Yggsdrasill.

I've been wondering about this game as regards ToR (gasp ;) )

Has anyone used anything from it for the flavor of the Norse influences in Middle-earth & does it work or not?

Thanks Valarian.

I've just preordered it from C7 store. I hope this time the book will get to me from UK with no problems and in the meantime I can't wait to put my hands on the PDF! :D

Luckily we're not in this universe, we're in the Tolkienverse, so it should be completely possible.

I hope so Garn! The Tolkienverse is infinitely suitable in comparison to our own.

Fortunately, Gareth seems to be maintaining his sense of humor after all we put him through. We're such a bunch of primadonnas :)

For all the TOR fans who are griping about the paucity of releases: Try being a fan of other C7 games. Primeval-still just the core book, with a long promised Companion still waiting. Dark Harvest:Legacy of Frankenstein-one supplement and an e-book fiction anthology. Airship Pirates-one thin adventure and one sourcebook, with at least three others promised for ever. Rocket Age-not even the core book.
Shh... hear that? i'm playing the world's saddest song on the world's smallest violin.

P.S That's a joke by the way before I get destroyed by abuse. Also I to am very excited by the sound of Rocket Age, who doesn't like a bit of Flash Gordon and that Wild West game they have got involved it looks mint (I think that has been delayed for about a year, but I know the guys writing it have had a mare!!!)

P.P.S Also to be fair I would think TOR is more commercially viable and between Dr Who and TOR would get my focus.

I can only imagine what the inconvenience it might be for the traditional tabletop groups that quickly run out of adventures and would rather to relay on the great product than resort to the fan created material or paraphrased from other ME systems. I play thru internet via PBF so it's a bit easier for me and therfore I have the luxury of being optimistic :D

Since the product is so good and worth well more than we are actually paying for - the quality beats those delayed months. We won’t see TOR II or TOR III, and yet another, and the next, like WFRP or DnD products, so no wonder that every book that comes out from C7 is top notch, well thought out and just a gem. This isn’t a game for the masses, so since the targeted audience of ME geeks is rather small, let them make the living in peace and not burden poor writerses and painterlings with additional burden of stress. Why wouldn’t they release the material faster if they could? Why the One Ring wasn’t carried to Mordor by the Eagles? So far they shown everybody in gaming industry that they are taking TOR seriously. So chill out guys, create some more great home brew adventures and at dawn, look to the east! ;)

Sorry for my broken English…
This is a little late, but can I just say thank you for your broken english! Truly! Us English-speakers could take a lesson from your civility, and worry less about being self-righteous.

I lament Tolkien's un-mechanized, critical pre-modern era has given way to a world of the "Machine". But, I am VERY thankful that C7 isn't publishing TOR in homage to the "Machine". I am also VERY thankful Francesco and C7's version of Middle-earth is Tolkien's Middle-earth, and not some easily contrived and quickly published knock-off. There are enough games out there that come from a "mind of metal and wheels".

With the current fidelity TOR takes to give us Tolkien's Middle-earth, I know despite its passing Tolkien's era can still be touched and tasted in this game. And, when my children are old enough, they will be able to wander first-person into the depths of Mirkwood as well as read about Bilbo's adventures in that dark and perilous "tangle-wood". I will feel better for it knowing its Tolkien's Middle-earth, and not someone else's.

What more can I ask for...?

Sincerely,
Scott

This is my fav part of your response. I agree wholeheartedly & love ToR for this reason.

BTW, the master would be pleased at your reference :D

Mim, I wholeheartedly agree with your reason for loving TOR.

You're most likely right about the "Master" and, lord knows, his son agrees if his interview before the release of The Hobbit movie is any honest indication. :|
