I'm surprised that they, the C7 videos, haven't been better promoted as providing background on the design process now that the changed version is getting close.
That's true. Getting it written down is also useful though as you can post these quotes or previews in other forums. People can't always watch a video as they may be at work, etc and not be able to view or listen to such content.

You're right though, the videos really should be front and centre as they are extremely informative and it always nice to put faces to names, etc.

Yusei, They probably did push them 3.5 years ago in the run up to launching One Ring.

The videos about the slipcase largely fall into being "old content" and related heavily to the slip case edition, and we don't want to confuse people. Though there's nothing wrong with them, and they're still available. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... 1934C91CF3

We might even be making some new ones relating to the new single volume rulebook, which once done would reference the older videos about the slipcase. Who knows?

There will be a free PDF errata/clarifications document that you can use with the old book to give you all the changes as well as the shiny new bits too. Obviously it won't be as slick an option as buying the new book, but we don't want anyone to feel like we're forcing them to buy the book again.

Tolkien only hints at their presence in Wilderland, but I think I found his inspiration for them in the House of the Wolfings by William Morris. And their Hound of Mirkwood virtue is pretty cool too!”
That's awesome...I just started playing a Woodman and have been struggling to come up with a good story. I'm going to get House of the Wolfings right away.

Damn, now I'll have to read it as well. At least I already downloaded it from Project Gutenberg.

Andrew wrote: The biggest change to how characters work is with the Cultural Rewards and Virtues – we’ve tweaked and changed most of them in some way, based on the feedback we’ve had over the years. So, just to pick a couple of examples, we’re now explicit as to what constitutes a servant of the Shadow for Elves with Shadow Bane (and you instead add an extra die to your rolls against such creatures); you don’t have to first be wounded to use your Staunching Song; the Axe of the Azanulbizar can be used against enemies with an Attribute level of 7 or less, so you can hew the really big guys; and, yes, we’ve changed how the King’s Blade works.
I'm especially excited about this part, but ('and'...) is it too late to request that non-cultural Masteries get looked at, too?

The cultural ones are varied and interesting and colorful, while the generic ones are...less so. Sure, resetting your Hope can be handy, but getting a +1 here or there doesn't really change your gameplay. I wish I had some good ideas to offer, but I at least want to plant the seed.

Maybe something that would give you a special bonus when rolling a Gandalf with certain skills. Or something with pros and cons, such as:
"Too clever by half": Pick either Riddle or Persuade. When using the skill roll the feat die twice and take the better result, but if you fail and either roll is a Sauron you have caused grave offense, counting as two failures in an Encounter.

I rather like this, I may try it out on you on Wednesday. It smacks of some of the interaction in the Hobbit for a character to be hoisted by his own petard.

Wonderful. It's nice to see how you paid attention to many details, this will be an excellent revised edition. I can't wait!
