That's probably the main reason for it.

On the other hand: how many books did we buy when we bought the slipcase? I found two books inside... ;)

And it's not unusual for RPGs to have a GM's book and a Player's Book.

I also recall the old MERP including all races and cultures, but not having a single word in it about regions, cities, towns,...

I'm not saying how C7 should do things, I'm just saying what I *would like* to have. I don't need to carry a book with the description of how to build a starting character everytime I'm mastering a game, specially when it doesn't include every culture and race. On the other hand, I fully understand that this new release is mainly directed at new players and LMs and, therefore, they need the setting info.

My *wish* would have been to wait one or two months and release the Core Book with only rules along with the Adventurer's Guide with all cultures/races and the extras that are waiting for us.

But my wishes may be only suitable for me  .

@Falenthal, all you need to do is buy only the pdfs and then use a program that can extract pages to pull out all the sections you want for core rules and print and bind that. Do the same for the cultures as your very own character generation book.

Fixed!

Falenthal is happy and everyone else can get on with using the pretty books as published.

Don't you think I won't be doing that!

My only concern is that, in the spanish version, we don't have PDFs, only the physical book.
So I'll have (and want!) to buy the spanish books, then also the english PDFs, and pay for the color printing and binding.

And I'll have to do that for, at least, these books:
The One Ring Revised Core Manual (pre-order opens June) – As stocks of the current box set are running low, we’re taking the opportunity to revise and reprint The One Ring Roleplaying Game in a single volume, clarifying some rules and adding in some new art. For those of you who own the existing set, don’t worry, we’ll make any revisions and clarifications available as a separate PDF, but we’re confident that you’ll want to add this volume to your collection all the same.
Rivendell – There are also rules for Magical Treasure, Rangers of the North, Elves of Rivendell, the Eye of Sauron and loads more besides.
The Adventurer’s Companion – Not long after the release of the new core manual comes the first supplement aimed squarely at players. Including a whole wealth of advice, ideas and background for making your own hero and company, as well as new Heroic Cultures including Bree-folk, Riders of Rohan, Dwarves of the Blue Mountain, the Elves of Lorien and People of Gondor, a new Calling in the form of the Captain, and expanded rules for generational play.
Anyway, seeing that no one shares my point of view... :) how do you people like the spreading of rules and cultures between various books? Is it ok for everyone?

Generally, yes, I do like that; we have a progression from the core-rules region of Rhovanion to the lands west and south of the Misty Mountains.

For myself it's ok. I love the game generally. ( too crunchy for me, but I love rules-lite) Even though I have a PC that I like , I have had to wait years to play a character that really want to play. So I enjoy the game, but not a much I would have if I have been given a chance to play a Breelander, Gondorian, or a Ranger of the North which where my heart truly lies.
