Hello all,
I have been lurking around for a while and now came up with the first question that I could not find an answer for.
I was preparing to run Of Leaves & Stewed Hobbit when I realized that Goblin Archers are actually amazingly good with their bows. Maybe a bit too much, in fact.
Goblin Archer's Bow of Horn is a favoured skill, which means they always roll 4 dice (Weapon Skill of 2 + Attribute Level of 2) to shoot their bows, right? Throw in Denizen of the Dark, which quite often you would I think, and they actually throw 6 dice!
Really? Is this how it's meant to be?
Goblin Archer's Attribute Level of 2 would somehow tell me that they are not supposed to be this good. Compare to Orc Guard for example: he is Attribute Level 4 but he ever gets to attack with 3 dice most, because his weapon skills are not favoured and he doesn't have the Denizen of the Dark ability.
Sure, Orc Guard can stand heat much longer than the Goblins but still this seems like this isn't how it's supposed to be.
How do you guys see this? Or is there something obvious I am just missing?

No, they add +2 to their roll of 2 Dice, they don't roll (2 + 2) dice.

Ah, of course. Misread the rule from the beginning and it stuck.
Thanks!
Thanks!

And just to clarify, with Denizen of the Dark it would be 2d6 +4.

Plus the Feat Die.
2D6+4+Feat Die. That's still really good. Superior to most starting characters.

Sticking things with arrows is their function in life. You'd hope that they'd be good at it. This isn't D&D, where Goblins are among the lowest of the food chain. They're servants of the Enemy, a threat to the free peoples.
