I'm sorry Falanthal, it appears that once again irony does not translate well for non-native English speakers.

I used a degree of hyperbole such that I thought the comment would be perceived as what it was, irony, by even most Americans (who don't do irony well) but it caught you out as well. For that, apologies.

And I'm sorry for the tone of my answer.

Irony is misunderstood a lot of times on the net, and non-native English speakers like me have more problems with it. Apologies on my behalf, also.

You'll just have to not be the first to respond and see how other posters might answer such a posting :-)

Some of us are more likely to try and stick closer to canon in our games than others and on both sides attempts to push particular preferred cultures or styles of play come across as combative and argumentative. My own attempt at levity in this discussion thread, and the possibly perjorative term 'special snowflake', may have caused a equally robust response on your part.

So no harm, no foul, we'll both continue to enjoy the game.

I really like it. It's a constant little reminder of the power of the Firstborn without making elves unbalanced.

Luckily, though, we're much better than the British at football so it all works out.

Munchkins choose elves? I didn't know that.
For the magic and the bow special abilities, yes. Picking a shire hobbit is actually better, IMO, but the bow abilities are impressive. And the magic is rather potent. A lone elf can kill a Troll.
