New weapons?

Has there been any mention of new weapon types in any of the upcoming supplements? I would guess the adventurer's companion would be the place, but there are a few that I could see fitting into regional supplements (e.g. slings for Shire/Bree, lance for Rohan.)
I know there's extensive fan material, but I'm funny about house rules; I like things to be "official". And I'm not really a "more is better" kinda guy, but there a few weapons I would like to see. Mostly sling, throwing/hand axe, greatsword, and staff. Maybe a hammer.
For most variants of existing weapons such as swords (scimitars, falchions, tulwars, cutlasses...you name it) I think it's in the spirit of TOR to just use the same stats as the nearest equivalent. E.g., lance could just be (great)spear with rules for mounted combat.
That's for Heroes. In another thread we talked about more orcish weapons; I would support* orcs and evil men wielding flails, mauls, whips, spiked clubs, slavers chains, pickaxes, crossbows, chainsaws, morningstars, glaives....
Ok, maybe not chainsaws. But you have to admit that "small goblin, big-ass Husqvarna" is a great visual.
*(That is, I would support the idea of them using those weapons, I wouldn't be supporting them...)
