Ok, most of us probably haven't already gotten that lucky dice roll and found a single Famous Weapon or Armour yet, let alone exhausted all the possibilities, but I'm already trying to think of new enchanted qualities. Just because it's fun.
I'll get the ball rolling. (I'm going to keep the language terse and some of the names are placeholders.)
close combat weapons:
"Hope of Valinor": spend a point of Hope to cause your weapon to flare with pure light, causing servants of shadow to despair (cancels their Attribute Level bonus next turn) and(or?) giving all companions attribute bonus on Fear/Corruption checks this turn and next.
"Iron Cleaving": damage is reduced by 1 (2 for 2H weapons), but Injury is increased by 4. Can also be used to cut through metal (bars, chains, and the like; enchanted items immune)
"Flickering Steel": gives a bonus to Parry (2H only?).
"Accuracy": extra die (max 6) added to attack rolls. Maybe Bane only?
"Massive": on a Pierce, opponents of man-sized or smaller are knocked down (regardless of outcome of Protection roll). 2H only.
"Destruction": When Bane targets are killed by a Wound from this weapon, the results are...messy. All Bane creatures who witness this must make a test (Attribute level vs. 14 + Valour?) or lose a point of Hate, or all Hate on a failure with Gandalf. Not applicable vs. mindless adversaries.
"Wounding": (ok, this is straight out of D&D) When a Pierce is rolled the target continues to take damage, regardless of the outcome of the Protection test. If the attack was a normal success the victim loses one additional endurance every round, two on a great success, three on an extraordinary success.
That's my first pass. (We need ideas for curses, too.)

Shield:
"Weapon Shattering": When an adversary misses on a Gandalf, their weapon shatters on this shield. If the weapon was a natural attack (bite, claw, etc.) they suffer an endurance loss equal to their own damage rating.
"House of ...": This ancient shield is emblazoned with the emblems of a great house of the First Age. Servants of Shadow attacking the bearer gain the benefits of "Hatred of..." but in their rage they lose all of their Parry.
"King's Guard": When used for the Protect Companion combat task, this shield grants additional Parry equal to the wielder's Valour.
(These may be bad ideas, but maybe some of you can offer improvements...)

How about an evil quality
Insidious (Bane): Weapon is harder to heal from for bane targets; all wound treatment tests are +2 TN, and endurance recovery is impossible without daily healing skill rolls. Even when not wounded, all End recovery is halved once hit with the weapon.
And curses...
The Mark of Evil: the bearer of an item with this curse gives off a palpable sense of evil. This reduces tolerance by 1, to a minimum of 1. (In dealing with Servants of the Enemy, it raises tolerance by 1.)
The Song of Readiness: The blade hums when in hand. The wielder may not attempt to ambush using this, as the song gets louder the more hidden the wielder is.
The Longing: This sword increases the Lecherousness of the character. The character gains the trait "Lecher", and it applies in any social situations where members of the character's desired sexual partnering are present. Further, any social Sauron roll should trigger either a slapping, a fight, or an evening occupied with a new partner. Cue also any usual complications one's group is comfortable with for libidinous actions.
The Goblining Blade: While carried, this weapon makes one appear to all as an orc or goblin of similar stature to anyone not present when it was first picked up. The effect lasts until sunup/sundown (whichever is longer) following the blade being lost, stolen, stored, or given away. Even one's own mother won't recognize one.

"Pacification" (bad name, I know): Spend Hope on a hit to drain Hate.
Some other effects I would like to see, in either Wondrous Artefacts or Famous Weapons & Armor:
- bonus to Fear tests
- bonus to Wisdom tests
- Light, without it being linked to bane creatures (e.g. Phial of Galadrial; I'm thinking ahead to both Moria and all the underground ruins hinted at it Rivendell)
