Questions re Prepare Shot and Wounds

I'm not sure if these questions have come up or not, but my players wanted to know if it was possible to perform the combat task Prepare Shot prior to combat, in an ambush situation. I allowed it at the time, but what would be the general consensus on this? Secondly, with a Piercing blow, does one still take the Endurance loss when taking a Wound or even when making the Protection test?

I would probably allow the Prepare shot in an ambush situation, but only if the companions is well hidden and had good time preparing for the shot. I'd say it reflects the situation well, with a decent chance of a one shot kill. The RAW does not cover the situation however.

The answer to your other question is that one still takes the Endurance damage, regardless of the outcome of the piercing blow/armour roll.
