Lets you use your favored body value as damage bonus, but isn't that what having a favored bow skill does?

No, having bow as a favored skill only allows you to add your favored body when adding an attribute bonus to your attack roll. You still get your basic body score to damage.

No, the damage is always calculated from Basic Body.
Favoured skills benefit from the favoured attribute, when you spend a point of Hope, and only to modify the skill roll, not damage.
