Important people and locations in DoM and TfW
Re: Important people and locations in DoM and TfW
Cool. Nice work on the adventures, btw!
Re: Important people and locations in DoM and TfW
I'm thinking of having Baldor and Brego be on the boat in BitW (I also aim to use them in the DoM adventure). Any good villains in that area in TfW or DoM (to act as the main villain, the one that escapes with the map)? Any other friendly LM characters (from the books) the players could save at the camp? I really like the idea of introducing several key characters in the first session, something this adventure is really good for.

You could glance through the sections of HotW and see quite quickly if some creature from Dol Guldur matches your needs. Make it a lieutenant or lesser creature rather than someone really important but also someone who will appear with the bigger bad again later on. My own bad guy is now dead but he was.. oops no spoilers as I know my players are watching over my metaphorical shoulder on here.

For the "bad orc" I'm using Ghor, from page 101 of Tales.
The survivors might tell about "a strange symbol on his helm, a red eye it seemed. Never seen this sign before in any orc or goblin from around here...".
This detail could introduce the fact that Sauron is again interested in the Wilderland.
In my game, the map is from Greydelve (from Heart of the Wild), and the dark forces are looking for it because it explains the location of a "secret weapon" in the dwarven fortress. Unknown to the Dark Forces, this "weapon" is in fact a mechanism to make the whole fortress crumble upon himself (sort of autodestruction) in case it becomes infested by enemies, as was the case with Gundabad. [Idea stolen from the videogame War in the North
].
Frár, the Beardless dwarf might be trying to recover Greydelve, but would activate the autodestruction (a stone that holds the full weight of Greydelve, a mechanism to flood it all,...) in case the orc and goblin forces where overwhelming, burying him and everyone else alive...
