Throwing Spears
Throwing Spears
I have a question, if a player throws his spear at an enemy, how can he recover it later? Or he can't do it? Is it the same as having an enemy drop you weapon? 1 turn of combat to recover it?
Re: Throwing Spears
If you mean while combat is still going on, then yes, I'd say it's like being disarmed. 1 round to pick it back up is good enough for me, but I'd prefer to have another weapon.

"How long of a pause? Is it six seconds long?"
"Yeah, I'd imagine so."

I think that's reasonable.deathm00n wrote:I have a question, if a player throws his spear at an enemy, how can he recover it later? Or he can't do it? Is it the same as having an enemy drop you weapon? 1 turn of combat to recover it?

Re: Throwing Spears
I'd say one round to recover the thrown spear if the enemy was at close range (and you hit). One extra round for each range increment. If your antagonist is at point blank range then you are probably using your spear as a melee weapon.

Sounds good to me. Of course, by that logic, there's no reason the initial target couldn't pick it up... assuming, of course, it had the appropriate skill.Stilts wrote:If you mean while combat is still going on, then yes, I'd say it's like being disarmed. 1 round to pick it back up is good enough for me, but I'd prefer to have another weapon.
Re: Throwing Spears
Ah yes, if it was a spear with one or more qualities then the enemy might very well use it against the hero. Some Orcs have training in spears...I think I've been given another idea to use in the future! Unless, of course, the weapon had a bane against Orcs.fast.git wrote:Sounds good to me.
