Elrond and Elros got to choose between which race to belong. Their parents were Earendil the mariner and Elving.

Elrond chose the elven race and Elros chose to belong to the race of men at the end of the first age.

Elrond isnt really a Noldor. He is a mixture of Maia, Man, Sindar elf, Teleri and Noldoelf. Born in Beleriand, at the end of the first age.

BUT, there a a few Noldorin Elves left in middle earth.

Men have some influence from their elvish descendancy, such as long lives, some of the wisdom from elves, not so much of their fairness. Elves with traits from men on the other hand, isnt really discussed in the books as far as i can remember.

That, too. He was his Herald.

It's more a question of lineage than the claim to fame. In any case, it is probably for the best that neither one of them seeks domination.

In an alternate timeline it's Elrond vs Galadriel in the 4th Age.

I haven't searched (yet), but I'm willing to bet there's some fanfiction out there depicting Galadriel having accepted the Ring. Or maybe ElfC and I could write some.
