Hi all,

Just wondering if this short adventure will ever see the day of light...

I'm hopeful that we'll find it in the next book as part of the Darkening of Mirkwood campaign. That, or in another collection of adventures.

Anyone else wondering if the Sorceress of Mirkwood (from The HotW) and the Wood-witch adventure are tied?

The Wolf-King, any ideas...? Does it take place in the Vales of Gundabad, and involve the Chief of the Wargs or a skin-changer from among the Hill-men...? That might account for the name...Hmmm

As far as i know, the Wolf-king is a werewolf. Werewolf in Middle-earth are not skin-changers but evil spirits incarnated in wolf form from the First Age (like Carcharoth). Wargs are believed to be the offspring of werewolves and normal wolves, same as Lúthien was the offspring of an incarnated Maia in Elf form (Melian) and an Elf.

Gandalf mention in Rivedell that there are Werewolves serving the Enemy, so this would be something like the balrog. A demon from the Old Days.

Interesting, I know the 'werewolf' from Tolkien' literary corpus. Within TOR and its chronology, where would the "Wolf-King" fit? From the LB we know the Werewolf of Mirkwood awakens in 2460, and from the Supplementary Chronology for 'The Darkening of Mirkwood' we know that a Ringwraith travels to its lair in 2952. This Ringwraith, we learn from The HotW is most likely the Ghost of Mirkwood. The Ghost transforms the senseless destruction of "a stray beast" into a terrifying purpose intent on Woodmen-town. So far, the descriptive material we have in TOR points to something other than the Werewolf, a stray beast wreaking ruin and havoc amidst the woods, as a kingly figure...unless, hmmmm. The sense of 'Wolf-King' isn't so much as a leader like the Chief of the Wargs, but the greatest of beasts in the Heart of the Wild...?

All this begs the question: Throughout the intervening years between 2460 and 2952, there is a great gap of time to envision the Werewolf as an active force of evil in the Wild.

What a tantalizing problem...

Someone from Arc Dream Publishing who have in the past shared space with C7 at Gen Con. From posts, looks like they have play tested Tales of the Wilderland for C7.

There is also a Tale of Years from the campaign (http://www.revolutionsf.com/revblogs/ro ... -one-ring/) they have been running, some adventures names are recognisable but I wonder if the following are self-made or things that were possibly going to happen but never did -

The Mountain Shade, Throne of Stone, In the Shire, The Brother Grim, The Yule Hunt, The Hare and the Hill-Giant and Letters Home.

Makes me more gutted that we lost the Wood Witch and the Wolf King when we did.
