That's another really good point.

Update
The supplement's coming along nicely. Here's the completion progress of each chapter:

CHAPTER 1 – THE HISTORY OF DALE (100% Complete)
CHAPTER 2 – THE SURROUNDING LANDS (100% Complete)
CHAPTER 3 – THE CITY OF DALE (60% Complete)
CHAPTER 4 – PERSONALITIES OF DALE (10% Complete)
CHAPTER 5 – THINGS TO DO IN DALE (60% Complete)
CHAPTER 6 – THE GATHERING OF FIVE ARMIES (60% Complete)
APPENDICES – MAPS OF DALE, SURROUNDING LANDS, AND OTHER LOCALES (0% Complete)

It's currently weighing in at 20 pages but I expect it to finish in the 30s not including maps. Maps will add to this size obviously and I'll be working on the Map of Dale and a Map of the Kingdom of Dale this weekend.

I'm still aiming at getting this finished next weekend (ie, sometime around Sunday 4th August).

Came upon two artist renderings of Dale, from the upcoming Desolation of Smaug (part 2/3 of the Hobbit movie):

Cool, thanks Aiwendil. Have some pics already but may use those if resolution is okay and they are print friendly.

Bedtime for me now, but here's a further (final) sample:

No more text teasers until release now although I may post WIP of my maps.

Looking good Rich. I hope you don't mind if I indulge in some shameless self promotion.

The next issue of Other Minds(which is in final layout, I believe) contains further information about Buhr Wenjan, Buhr Naurthauja and a fully developed, playable, culture for the mounted warriors of the Dale lands.
These rules are also suitable for other mounted cultures, such as the Eorlingas (and the Leofrings) and a set of Mounted Combat rules are included.

Don't mind at all and makes me feel better about not using it all in this supplement. Look forward to reading it fully and all on one place.

Bloody 'eck, this map's hard work! Didn't realise my art skillz were so rusty.

I've roughly sketched out the city and noted important areas on it to get a feel of what it'll look like:

Think it's looking okay

I've now inked-in/outlined the walls and towers of the city along with the canal/moat around it and the roads leading into it:

The finished map will be coloured so that you can, among other things, differentiate between the roads and moat.

Thoughts? Do you think it looks okay?
