Since I introduced the new treasure rules from the Rivendell book two separate companies have found locations warranting the use of the treasure rules.
The first was my FTF long running game where the finally went and cleared out the hoard of the Mewlips. The heroes rolled a Gandalf, a Gandalf and then at the urging of one of the players who had already rolled, an Eye. So pretty astounding odds for the first use of the rules.
This week in my club game they found a troll's treasure and the two dwarves who braved the cave tested for treasure and promptly rolled an Gandalf and an Eye. Again pretty long odds.
So that in five rolls in two games separated by a couple of weeks the players have rolled between them three Gandalf's and two Eyes when looking for treasure.
Anyone want to try and calculate the odds of that happening?

Re: Rivendell treasure rules
Well, let's see. If you consider the Eye and the Gandalf functionally identical (that is you don't care how many of each, just that one of them happened)... there a 2 in 12 (or 1 in 6) chance for each roll.
So it is:
1
------
6^5
or 1 in 7776; or 0.0129% chance of it happening. But, as is always true with statistics, the chances of it happening are not so much important as the fact that it did happen...
Have fun!

Thanks for that. I use my Shadwo-lore to sense the hand of something other than fate at work in these games.
