Adventure modules from GenCon 2014?

Post by mirkwoodfalcon » Mon Oct 20, 2014 8:19 pm

Hello all,

I attended GenCon 2014 this year and picked up The One Ring (plus a few supplements) while I was there. I noticed in the events listing for GenCon that some modules were going to be run, namely A Long Way from Home, A Wizard's Errand, and His Master's Voice. I have been unable to locate these modules anywhere; do you suppose these were created by fan GM's? Are these official modules, and if so, does anyone know where I could find a copy?

(Better yet, did anyone play in these modules at GenCon? I'd be interested in what you have to say. :) )

Thanks for your help!

C7 are only allowed to sell products in tangible printed format by the terms of their licence from M-e Enterprises. They may sell pdf versions of those products but no pdf only products.

The need to have any and all product reviewed and approved by M-e Enterprises makes everything a very slow process. Some material scheduled for 2012 is only now being shipped possibly because of this approval process.

The cost of producing and selling products up to the quality of the core materials is such that there would seem to be little chance of those scenarios being ever sold except possibly in some kind of compilation. I believe that some of the 2014 Gencon scenarios will appear in the Ruins of the North product due to be produced during Autumn 2014.

I'm not sure whether it was one of the events listed, but we ended up changing the actual game our GMs ran fairly close to GenCon. It was called Nightmares of Angmar and you will be able to buy it - it's the first adventure in Ruins of the North.

Ah, thank you very much! Anxiously awaiting RotN then. :)

Andrew you are making the wait for Ruins of the North physically painful. I've gone through several keyboards wearing out refresh keys. Not sure if there has ever been a game supplement I've been more anxious for more in my life. Godspeed...

The agony is compounded by the dilemma of whether or not to read through it, in case you have a chance to play it before LMing it.

OK, so you guys aren't allowed to "sell" those adventures. I have some ideas.

1) Could you sell a membership to a club? A club that just so happens to have the benefit of accessing pdf adventures?

2) Could you have a fundraiser for charity and the participants get pdf adventures?

3) Could you give away free pdf adventures? Then set up a donations box that people could give you money if they just happened to feel like it?

4) Could you sell one real book, then make the pdf adventure available?

No, we can't do any of that.

As I said, those adventures aren't Cubicle 7's adventures. The only official adventure we ran will be in Ruins of the North. And I'm saying no more about Ruins of the North yet.

Oh ok. That makes sense. Although somehow I completely missed you saying this. I must need new glasses. Or something.
